Work has always been an important part of the monastic tradition. By our work we share the lot of the poor who must work hard to earn their daily bread. We too work as a means of financially supporting ourselves.

Our work is a means of participating in God’s own work of creating and recreating the world. By its difficulty and fruitfulness it draws us into the mystery of Jesus’ Cross and Resurrection. In a particular way it is by the work we do that we offer our humanity to God. And it is by our work that we contribute to building up the world we live in.

We work in varied ways — all share in the daily upkeep of our monastic home. We engage in creative work, according to the gifts and talents of each individual sister.
