What a terrible thing it is to be blind, or deaf, or to experience hunger or pain, If we cannot breathe we become anxious, frantic, for air. But we do not often reflect that that there is also a spiritual hunger and thirst that calls us to our full human – because it is divine – potential, a spiritual deafness and blindness that prevents us from realizing that potential.

Lord, make us see; give us the desire to make us want to see. Help us to understand that it is only in You, Truth Itself, Overflowing Goodness and Infinite Beauty, that all our longings can be satisfied.
